The Kelmore PrimeMore Grip Primer – 5L is a high-performance, ready-to-use bond-promoting primer designed to enhance adhesion on non-porous interior surfaces. Engineered for both walls and floors, PrimeMore Grip provides a textured, keyed surface that ensures strong bonding of adhesives, levelling compounds, and smoothing products. This primer is ideal for surfaces like existing ceramic and porcelain tiles, vinyl flooring, and even metal substrates.

Key Features:

One-Coat Application: Kelmore PrimeMore Grip is designed for ease of use with a single-coat application. There is no need for dilution, and the product is ready to apply straight from the container, making it an efficient solution for both small and large projects.

Bond-Promoting Surface: Once applied, the primer dries to a textured, keyed surface. This increases the surface area available for adhesives and levelling compounds to bond, ensuring stronger and longer-lasting adhesion. The primer is pigmented green to make it highly visible during application, ensuring consistent and complete coverage across the substrate.

Wide Range of Applications: PrimeMore Grip is suitable for a wide range of non-porous backgrounds, including:

Existing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tiles
Metal surfaces (such as steel)
Asphalt flooring
Vinyl flooring
Epoxy damp-proof membranes (DPM)
Whether it’s a commercial or residential setting, this primer is ideal for interior tiling and levelling projects.

Fast Drying Time: The primer dries quickly, making it ideal for fast-paced environments. When applied at a temperature of 20°C, it dries in approximately 45 minutes, allowing for prompt application of tile adhesives or levelling and smoothing compounds.

Easy to Apply: The product can be applied easily using a paint roller or brush. Its fluid consistency ensures smooth coverage, and care must be taken not to overapply the primer, as this can result in skin formation.

High Coverage Rate: Each litre of Kelmore PrimeMore Grip can cover up to 12.5m², depending on the texture and absorbency of the surface. This makes it a cost-effective option for large-scale tiling and flooring jobs.

Applications:

Kelmore PrimeMore Grip is designed for use on interior, non-porous substrates where strong adhesion is critical. Typical applications include:

Existing tiled surfaces (such as ceramic, porcelain, or stone)
Vinyl flooring
Epoxy DPM coatings
Metal substrates, such as steel or aluminium
Asphalt flooring
It is important to ensure that the substrate is in good condition before applying the primer. Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as dust, oil, and grease. If tiling over existing tiles, confirm that the original tiles are securely bonded and that the substrate is capable of handling the additional load.

Installation Instructions:

Surface Preparation: Prior to application, ensure that the surface is clean and structurally sound. Remove any contaminants that could affect adhesion, such as dirt, dust, oils, and loose debris. For existing tiled surfaces, confirm that the tiles are securely bonded and that the background is capable of supporting the additional weight of new tiling.

Application:

Shake the container well before use to ensure the product is properly mixed.
Using a paint roller or brush, apply a thin and even coat of PrimeMore Grip to the prepared surface. Avoid over-application, as this can lead to the formation of a skin.
To achieve complete and uniform coverage, apply the primer in a criss-cross pattern, ensuring that the entire surface is covered with the green-tinted product for visibility.
Allow the primer to dry for approximately 45 minutes at a temperature of 20°C. Drying times may vary depending on site conditions, so it’s important to ensure the primer is fully dry before proceeding.
Post-Application: Once PrimeMore Grip has dried, it is ready to receive tile adhesives, levelling compounds, or smoothing products. Ensure that no traffic is allowed on the primed surface before it is covered to prevent any damage to the primer.

Cleaning and Maintenance: All tools and equipment should be cleaned with water immediately after use, before the product has had a chance to dry. Once dried, mechanical cleaning methods may be required to remove the primer.

Health and Safety: For detailed health and safety information, consult the product’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) available on the Kelmore website. The product is designed for professional use and should be handled according to safety regulations, ensuring proper ventilation during application.

Storage and Shelf Life: Store PrimeMore Grip in its original, unopened packaging in a cool, dry place, away from frost and direct sunlight. When stored correctly, the product has a shelf life of up to 12 months.
