Introducing Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet – the ideal solution for achieving superior waterproofing and stability for your interior floor coverings. Designed by Kerakoll, a leading name in the industry, this product offers exceptional strength and durability to ensure long-lasting results.
The Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet is specifically formulated for use on various load-bearing substrates, including thoroughly dried concrete, cement-based screeds, old coating materials like ceramic tiles and natural stone, anhydrite screeds, levelling products, and even mixed wood and cast asphalt substrates. It effectively evens out tensile and shear movements between the substrate and the surface finish, providing enhanced stability and minimising the risk of cracks.
One of the standout features of the Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet is its flexibility and longevity. With a thickness of only 0.65 mm, this sheet offers a slim yet robust layer of protection. It reduces tensile and shear movements while providing greater safety, particularly on critical and old substrates.
Preparing the substrate is crucial for optimal results. Irregular substrates should be levelled prior to applying the Biotex sheet, using a suitable levelling compound. Substrates require treatment with a primer prior to installation.
When using the Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet for ceramic tiles, natural stone, large formats, porcelain tiles, clinker, or similar materials, begin by applying an adhesive from the H40 range to the prepared substrate using a notched trowel. Then, place the Biotex sheet on the fresh adhesive, ensuring a smooth, crease-free application while pressing it firmly. If multiple sheets are required, allow for a 5 cm overlap. It is important to incorporate elastic joints in the building structure and include perimeter and fractionising joints for surface coatings. Finally, lay the surface coating, making sure the back of the tiles is fully coated with an adhesive from the Bio range using an appropriate toothed spreader.
For hardwood floors with tongue and groove, ensure that the substrate meets DIN 18356 requirements for hardwood floor installation. Bond the anti-cracking sheet using suitable hardwood floor adhesives. Allow a minimum drying time of 24 hours before the final gluing of hardwood floors.
The Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet is accompanied by user-friendly tools such as a sharp knife or scissors for convenient and precise installation.
With maximum tensile strength, impressive elongation properties, and excellent air permeability, the Biotex Reinforced Anti-Cracking Sheet meets stringent quality standards. Its PET polyester nonwoven fabric construction in a slightly greenish white colour ensures reliability and visual appeal. Each roll is 50 metres in length and 1 metre in width, with a thickness of approximately 0.65 mm and a weight of around 150 g/m2.
